I use this site for my elective. its working with VIEL and it’s called ‘City of short distance.’ Its all about transport in Melb.
I (Jen) talks about my 4th year project on urban condition change in Melbourne specializing in future transportation.
In this interview Meg talks about her experiences in different fields of work including Industrial design and journalism. She explains the need for theory and ‘Design Studies’ in a Design course and she discusses a view on male dominated fields such as an Industrial designer or truck drivers.

My studio. “soft machine”
I’m working on a intensive 7 week project with ID students, textile students and GM Holden to design part of the interior for a car in the year 2026.
This project is turning out to be fairly challenging on time restraints, group dynamics, Holden feed back, CAD skills and rendering skills.
So I plan to document our progress though out the 7 week project.
2) An Interview with one of my past Industrial Design lectures such as Steven Mushin. About the progress of a project I stated in 2007.
“Aqua phonics.”
We made a test prototype in ‘Ceries’ organic farm to organically farm fish and vegetables in the same system. I was involved in the solar panels and an aeration system for the 3rd pond (there were 5 ponds all together.)
As I’m told though the system fell apart 5 month after we left and he was given a grant to re-do the work but I don’t know the details. So this could be interesting to research.

Idea for Podcast
Document Amada Thomas’s project about technology and how it effects society and how people live.Amanda conducted a study about “Going Analogue.”
She attempted to ‘go analogue’ for a week. No phone, No computer, no Ipod and so on.
She kept a diary over this period and talks about how hard it was for her to live into days society with out using today’s technology. She discusses how she even started to feel a little bit depressed and lonely with her main resources to interact with others was taken away.
I have now just done the interview with Amanda and started editing her interview.
She was very confident with talking about this subject so after she stopped being nervous she talked clearly. But I found she said “um” a lot so I’ve cut out a lot of the “umming’ so that’s not a key point. I also found a little bit of it had the rustle of paper in the back ground but lucky I was planning to cut out that part of the interview anyway because it wasn’t relevant to the topic.
I recorded her on the Zoom recorded which took me awhile to read the manual and work out all the settings but once I had mucked around on it I found it fairly straight forward to use. (But I do suggest if you’re using it fro an interview mess around with it before you actually do you interview.)
I had 12 minuets of talking. The first bit she was kind of nervous so at the end I asked her to repeat her starting sentence and by that stage she was confident and comfortable with being recorded.
Help. I’ve been looking for sound effects for it but nothing really seems to fit. If I put technology (scanner) sounds it just sounds tacky.
